A few words from our President Richard Glickstein on the new movie “Noah,” hitting theaters this month.
At the end of the trailer for the new movie coming out on March 27th, “Noah”, starring Russell Crowe, this statement appears, “The biblical story of Noah can be found in the Book of Genesis.”
This is not an endorsement of the movie but anybody that points people to the Bible to read it deserves a shout out. The director of the movie is Jewish and he freely admits to taking artistic license with the biblical story of Noah. I have not seen the film, so personally I can’t comment one way or another on his interpretation. But I will unequivocally praise his willingness to point people to the Bible if they want more information.
What is going on in Hollywood? First, we get Mark Burnett and Roma Downey’s record breaking Bible series on the History Channel. Then we get their successful major motion picture release, “Son of God”. And now we are getting a major motion picture that is pointing people to the Bible.
I don’t know what is up but I am thankful that more people through these Hollywood productions will be turning to the pages of the world’s greatest book and I believe that God will use it to speak to them.
