Recently, I returned from a business trip to Colorado. Coming to work the next day was to say the least, interesting.
Before I went to the plane in Denver, early in the morning, I hiked up to about 9,000 feet in the Rockies. As I was driving away from the trail, a beautiful 8-12 point buck in velvet (Their antlers are fuzzy at the beginning of the summer and fall off before the winter.) was beside my car. He looked at me and I gazed at him. What a site! God is an amazing artist.
Anyway, the next day I was at my office in Manhattan. Manhattan is noisy, it’s dirty and the people are somewhat uptight. What a contrast! Tranquil mountains filled with wildlife and a hectic city filled with people.
Yet in all this my relationship to God didn’t change. Its was good in both places. He is with me up in the mountains and he sure better be with me in the chaotic city for my sake. God is God. He really is the same yesterday, today and forever. We can count on him in any and every circumstance. It is way prettier in the Rockies. There is no debate about this. Yet in the gritty, fast paced Big Apple, he’s as good as anywhere, even the mountains!
